Apple has announced a price increase for its streaming service, marking the fourth hike to the platform in as many years. Beginning Friday, the monthly subscription will jump from $12.99 to $14.99, while annual plans will rise from $99 to $119. The price adjustment reflects a broader pattern across the streaming industry, as competitors including Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max, and others have similarly raised their subscription costs recently. Apple’s bundled offering, the Apple One individual tier, will also see an increase from $19.95 to $21.95 monthly. This package combines access to Apple TV, Apple Music, iCloud+, Apple Arcade, Apple News+, and Apple Fitness+.
Since its 2019 launch at $4.99 per month, Apple TV’s pricing has tripled while its content library has expanded dramatically. The service now features over 300 original programs and films, including popular shows like “Ted Lasso” and “Severance,” award-winning films such as “CODA,” and live sports broadcasts covering Formula 1, Major League Baseball, and Major League Soccer.
