Northern Iowa’s athletic department confirmed another matchup for Iowa women’s basketball’s upcoming schedule. The Panthers will visit Carver-Hawkeye Arena on November 12, 2026, as part of the nonconference slate released by the university last week.
This contest will be the 32nd meeting between the two in-state rivals. Iowa maintains a commanding 28-3 advantage in the all-time series, with a particularly strong recent record against Northern Iowa. The Hawkeyes have captured 18 of the last 19 matchups, with their most recent victory occurring last season when they defeated the Panthers 74-41 in Cedar Falls. Standout Hawkeye guard Chit-Chat Wright paced that victory with 19 points, while center Layla Hays contributed 14 points to the dominant performance.
The upcoming November encounter carries added intrigue with the return of former Iowa guard Callie Levin to Iowa City. The 5-foot-10 Levin, who scored 23 points for the Hawkeyes in the previous season, will now compete for Northern Iowa. Northern Iowa’s only victory in Iowa City came on December 19, 2006, when the Panthers secured an 83-62 triumph at the same venue.
