Amazon has announced that Prime Big Deal Days will take place on October 6 and 7, marking the company’s traditional fall shopping event for members. The 48-hour sale serves as an early kickoff to the holiday shopping season and occurs roughly one month before Black Friday. Unlike the summer Prime Day event, which was moved from mid-July to late June this year due to scheduling conflicts, Prime Big Deal Days maintains its customary autumn timing.
Prime Big Deal Days originated in 2022 as the Prime Early Access Sale before being rebranded and expanded in 2023. The event features exclusive discounts across multiple product categories for Prime members only. Amazon’s own devices—including Kindle e-readers, Fire TVs, and Echo speakers—typically receive the deepest discounts, along with extended trial offers for services like Amazon Music Unlimited. Beyond Amazon-branded products, major retailers including Apple, Samsung, Dyson, Sony, and Bose typically participate with significant markdowns on electronics, appliances, and household items.
Tech deals are expected to generate particular interest this year, as recent price increases throughout the industry have made discounts more valuable to consumers. Memory and storage component costs have risen substantially, prompting Amazon to increase prices on over 20 devices last month. Only Amazon Prime members can access the sale, though eligibility extends to those on trial memberships, including the six-month free trial available through the Prime for Young Adults program.
