Blue Finch Films, a United Kingdom-based sales and distribution company, has secured worldwide sales rights to the action-horror film “Kick On,” directed by Nick Kozakis. The acquisition excludes Australia and New Zealand, where Umbrella Entertainment has obtained separate distribution rights. The film is set to debut in the Midnight Madness program at the Toronto Film Festival, where Blue Finch will begin marketing efforts at the festival’s newly created industry marketplace.
“Kick On” follows a group of four friends whose evening spirals into chaos when they encounter a dangerous criminal operating an illicit establishment. The narrative centers on their struggle for survival amid escalating paranoia, violence, and treachery. The ensemble cast features Markella Kavenagh from “Rings of Power,” Nikolai Nikolaeff from “Stranger Things,” Ras-Samuel from “Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes,” and Jacek Koman from “Conclave.”
Directed by Kozakis, known for the award-winning “Godless: The Eastfield Exorcism,” the film represents the debut feature from Fableist Films. The production company was established by AACTA-winning producer Stephanie Troost and entrepreneur Simon Bell. The screenplay was written by Phil Klimek. Industry representatives have praised the project as an energetic genre piece featuring a cast of emerging talent from Australia.
