Google has introduced a new capability allowing Fitbit users to seamlessly transfer their health data to Apple Health. The latest version of Google Health now enables users to sync workout information, step counts, vital signs, and other fitness metrics directly to Apple’s ecosystem. To establish this connection, users simply access their profile settings, navigate to partner applications, and select Apple Health as their destination platform.
This development addresses a long-standing limitation in the integration between the two health platforms. Previously, data could only flow in one direction—from Apple Health into Google Health. Users who wanted to accomplish the reverse transfer were forced to rely on third-party applications or alternative solutions to bridge the gap between their Google and Apple health accounts.
The update comes several months after Google Health replaced the standalone Fitbit application. The initial transition generated considerable user feedback regarding the redesigned interface and integrated artificial intelligence features. Google has since made adjustments in response to community concerns. Additionally, the company announced a new feature allowing United States residents to generate shareable medical records links, enabling them to distribute health information with healthcare providers or family members through secure URLs or QR codes.
