Brandi Carlile will be honored as a member of the Austin City Limits Hall of Fame during the show’s season premiere this Saturday. Bonnie Raitt joins Carlile for the premiere episode, creating a duet performance of Raitt’s signature song “Love Me Like a Man.” The collaboration showcases two celebrated artists from different generations coming together in what the program describes as a mutual admiration moment. Carlile adapts lyrics from the blues standard to reflect her own perspective while maintaining the song’s powerful essence.
Beyond the televised performance, an additional duet was recorded during the taping but will only be available online. Carlile and Raitt also performed John Prine’s “Angel From Montgomery,” a composition that gained widespread recognition through Raitt’s 1970s recording.
