Ledyard boys soccer opened its season with a convincing 5-2 victory over New London on Tuesday. Wes Martelle led the offensive effort with two goals, while Carson Luther, Brock Estriplet, and Sean O’Brien each contributed one goal apiece. The Ledyard defense was solid throughout the match, with goalkeeper Alex Debrodt making three saves. New London’s offense was paced by Keandry Realpe, who scored both of his team’s goals in the losing effort.
In boys golf competition, New Canaan narrowly defeated Staples with a final score of 149-155. Three Rams golfers—Will Morawa, Quinn Susanin, and Wyatt Rotchford—shared medalist honors after each carding rounds of 37. Staples was led by James Moneyhon and Jordan Benaderet, who both shot 38s in the loss.
