Sony’s superhero film “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” maintained its commanding position at the British and Irish box office during its second week of release, earning £10.1 million. The blockbuster has accumulated a total of $87.4 million in just two weeks of theatrical distribution across these markets.
Universal’s ambitious epic “The Odyssey,” helmed by Christopher Nolan, secured second place during its fourth weekend in release. The film generated $4.8 million during the period, bringing its total earnings to $82.6 million. Meanwhile, Paramount’s animated offering “Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie” debuted in third position with an opening weekend haul of $2.2 million.
The remainder of the top five positions featured Disney’s “Toy Story 5” in its eighth week of theatrical run with $848,063 in earnings, followed by Universal’s “Minions & Monsters” collecting $557,564 in its sixth week. Several other films, including a specialized concert film and a live-action adaptation, rounded out the chart as competition intensified in the regional market.
Looking forward, multiple notable releases are scheduled for the upcoming theatrical window, including Warner Bros.’ sci-fi survival drama starring Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, as well as A24’s biographical feature about renowned chef Tony Bourdain.
