The British adaptation of “Saturday Night Live” will premiere its second season on September 12, Sky and Now have confirmed. The upcoming run consists of six episodes scheduled to air weekly, with additional installments planned for early 2027 following this initial batch.
The format mirrors the show’s first season, pairing celebrity hosts with musical performers across topical comedy sketches and a localized version of the signature “Weekend Update” segment. All eleven cast members from the inaugural season are returning to reprise their roles. Members of the public can apply for audience tickets through a ballot system beginning August 14.
Behind-the-scenes adjustments have been made for the new season, including Laura Claxton joining Jonno Johnson as co-head writer. Director Liz Clare continues in her role, while new additions include costume designer Heather MacVean and talent coordinator Sinead Oldnall. A promotional trailer has already been released showcasing what viewers can expect.
The series is produced by Universal Television Alternative Studio’s British division and Broadway Video for Sky Studios, with veteran producer Lorne Michaels serving as executive producer. The specific air dates for the six episodes span from mid-September through late October.
