Girona FC has confirmed that two promising young players will secure first-team registration for the 2026-2027 season. Minsu and Jastin Garcia, aged 20 and 22 respectively, will now transition to permanent spots on the squad managed by Quique Álvarez following their development through the club’s academy system.
Minsu, a South Korean talent born in Gwangju in 2006, joined Girona’s youth setup in 2022 after developing his skills at various Catalan football clubs. The defender made his competitive debut with Girona B in October 2022 and progressed to earn his first-team appearance in 2024, featuring in La Liga matches against Real Sociedad and competing in UEFA Champions League action against PSV Eindhoven. Most recently, he gained valuable senior experience during a loan spell at FC Andorra in the 2025-26 campaign.
Jastin Garcia, a Lleida native who began his career at local clubs before joining Girona’s youth system in 2019, also earned his La Liga debut during the 2023-24 season, appearing against Osasuna, Getafe, and Valencia. The midfielder shared his loan experience at FC Andorra with Minsu during the previous season, where both players developed under competitive conditions outside the main club.
Both players now advance to permanent first-team status as they continue their professional development at the Catalan club.
