Maria Bartiromo has ended her tenure at Fox News following more than twelve years with the network and its financial news sister channel. The announcement of her departure came through a brief statement released Thursday by Fox News Media, which offered limited details about the sudden exit.
During her time at the network, Bartiromo hosted two prominent programs: “Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo” on Fox News and “Mornings with Maria” on Fox Business. She established herself as one of the most visible financial reporters and analysts across both channels, though her biography page was removed from the Fox Business website shortly after the announcement was made public.
Bartiromo gained significant notoriety for her coverage of the 2020 election disputes, featuring interviews and commentary that promoted various unsubstantiated election fraud claims. Her statements and interviews became central to defamation lawsuits against Fox News, with voting machine company Dominion ultimately securing a $787.5 million settlement from the network. A similar claim from Smartmatic remains pending in court.
Neither Bartiromo nor Fox News has disclosed specific reasons for the split. Despite the departure, the longtime Trump supporter maintains her close relationship with the former president, who recently praised her on social media.
