Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” maintained its dominant position at the South Korean box office for the sixth consecutive weekend, drawing audiences throughout the September 11-13 period. The science fiction epic earned $3.9 million across 1,648 screens, accounting for just over half of the weekend’s total market share. Since its August debut, the film has accumulated $89.6 million in domestic revenue with nearly 10.8 million admissions.
“Obsession” emerged as the weekend’s strongest performer in second place during its sophomore week in theaters. The film pulled in $1.4 million from approximately 176,000 viewers across 845 screens, representing nearly one-fifth of the market. Its cumulative total reached $3.7 million following two weeks of theatrical release.
Additional titles rounded out the top rankings, including “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” in third place and newcomer “The Drama” in fourth. The Korean family-oriented road trip narrative “The Journey to Gyeongju” claimed fifth position, while the sci-fi thriller “Hope” reentered the top ten in seventh place. Overall weekend revenue declined from the previous frame, totaling $7.6 million across all releases.
