At 87 years old, folk music legend Judy Collins is embarking on what she calls a farewell tour, though her energy suggests otherwise. The “Sweet Judy Blue Eyes Farewell Tour 2026-2027” is taking the celebrated performer across the country, with performances that showcase both her most iconic recordings and newer material from her 2022 album “Spellbound.”
Collins, who has been performing for nearly seven decades, explained that the decision to launch a formal farewell tour now felt appropriate given her other commitments. Beyond touring, she is working on multiple book projects and developing a Broadway stage show for which she composed all the music. When asked why she is stepping back from her typical schedule of roughly 100 shows annually, Collins simply stated, “it’s time.”
Despite the farewell designation, Collins shows no signs of slowing down. She has already completed over 35 performances in 2026 and maintains that she genuinely loves touring, including the aspects other performers find exhausting. Her upcoming Los Angeles performance at the Ford theater will feature fellow folk-rock pioneer Bruce Cockburn, with other tour dates featuring notable opening acts including Richard Thompson, Amanda Shires, and Rosanne Cash.
The tour promises audiences a mix of her most celebrated covers and original compositions, with Collins varying her setlists each night to keep performances fresh.
