In an interview with Esquire, Ortega revealed an unexpected truth about the production: the elaborate choreography fans may have assumed was meticulously planned was largely improvised. According to the actress, she received minimal notice before filming began and the team had virtually no time to rehearse or coordinate their movements. Ortega described one particularly creative scene involving a kiss transition, explaining that the shot required her to remain still while different people took turns, creating what she humorously called “a carousel of lovers.”
Ortega highlighted the chainsaw sequence as her favorite moment to film, praising its entertaining and lighthearted atmosphere. She also noted an amusing detail about the prop itself, recalling that the chainsaw had been given a playful name referencing Carpenter’s hit single “Espresso.” Following the video’s release, Carpenter expressed her gratitude toward her collaborator and creative team, expressing admiration for Ortega’s on-screen performance and calling the project one of her most ambitious video productions.
