Running back Jax Adams added an 87-yard scoring run, while Joshua Ford recorded the final touchdown of the contest.
The most memorable moment came from senior linebacker Chris Henegar, who recorded a 30-yard interception return for a touchdown in the third quarter. Republic, known for its ground-oriented attack with multiple 400-plus rushing yard performances earlier in the season, attempted an uncommon passing play that Henegar easily intercepted. The play proved redemptive for Henegar, who acknowledged dropping interceptions the previous year and emphasized the significance of the moment.
Head coach John Perry credited Henegar’s defensive work and preparation throughout the season. The linebacker’s performance exemplified Nixa’s defensive dominance, as the Eagles forced three turnovers while significantly containing Republic’s typically potent running game.
