His distinctive tactical approach emphasizes a high-pressing defensive line utilizing a fluid 3-4-3 formation that demands intense training standards and strong mental resilience from his players.
The evaluation noted that despite Gasperini’s attacking reputation, his Roma side achieved Serie A’s second-best defensive record last season with only 31 goals conceded. When offensive struggles emerged early on, he demonstrated tactical flexibility by refining attacking movements and granting his midfielders greater attacking freedom. The ranking places Gasperini ahead of managers including Cesc Fabregas and Antonio Conte, while trailing Pep Guardiola at second and Luis Enrique at the top position.
