Everton has finalized an agreement to bring Jack Grealish back to the club on a season-long loan from Manchester City. The 30-year-old England winger is expected to undergo a medical examination, with the transfer anticipated to be finalized before the Tuesday evening deadline.
Grealish previously spent time at Everton during the previous campaign under the same loan arrangement, contributing two goals and six assists across 20 appearances before suffering a foot injury that ended his season in January. Despite interest from other clubs, including his former team Aston Villa, Grealish expressed a desire to return to Merseyside, with Everton’s leadership maintaining regular communication with the player throughout the process.
The move comes as Everton looks to strengthen its attacking depth following the anticipated departure of winger Iliman Ndiaye, who is set to join Manchester City in a £65 million transfer. The club is also pursuing additional reinforcements, including a £40 million deal for Monaco forward Folarin Balogun. Meanwhile, negotiations regarding defender Nathan Patterson’s potential move to Italian club Torino are progressing, though the structure remains undetermined.
Since joining Manchester City in 2021 for £100 million, Grealish has won multiple domestic and European honors with the club. He has made limited appearances this season, featuring only briefly in the Community Shield and the opening Premier League match.
