Detroit News sports reporter Brandon Folsom has released his Week 4 zone rankings for Metro Detroit high school football teams across four geographic divisions. The rankings reflect performance through the fourth week of the 2026 season and showcase several undefeated squads competing at the highest levels.
In the North zone, Detroit Catholic Central maintains the top spot with a perfect 3-0 record, followed closely by fellow undefeated teams Howell and Clarkston. The East zone is led by Romeo and Grosse Pointe South, both remaining unbeaten. The West zone features an impressive array of undefeated programs, with Saline, Dearborn Divine Child, Northville, Gibraltar Carlson, and Woodhaven all sporting 3-0 marks. Detroit’s zone is anchored by three perfect teams: Cass Tech, King, and East English Village.
Several teams maintain strong 2-1 records across all zones, positioning themselves competitively despite early season losses. Notable mentions include Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in the North, Warren De La Salle in the East, and Dearborn Fordson in the West. Belleville stands as the lowest-ranked team across all divisions with a 1-2 record in the West zone.
