The Kansas City Chiefs made several roster adjustments on September 4, finalizing injury settlements with three players. Quarterback Chris Oladokun, offensive lineman C.J. Hanson, and running back E.J. Smith were all released from the team’s injured reserve list following these agreements.
In addition to parting ways with the injured players, Kansas City bolstered its depth by adding tight end Thomas Odukoya to the practice squad. Odukoya joined the team through the NFL’s International Player Pathway program, which aims to expand opportunities for athletes from outside the United States and Canada.
These moves come as the Chiefs prepare for their Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos on Monday Night Football. While the departures are unlikely to impact immediate game plans, the addition of Odukoya provides insurance at the tight end position should Kansas City face additional injuries as the season progresses.
