Sony and Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is expected to maintain its commanding position at the box office during its third weekend in theaters, despite facing competition from five new wide releases. The Tom Holland-led superhero sequel, which has already earned $671 million domestically and $1.68 billion globally in just 12 days, is projected to collect between $65 million and $70 million over the coming weekend, representing a roughly 55 percent decline from its previous frame.
The Spider-Man film’s trajectory places it among an exclusive group of blockbusters, with industry analysts predicting it will cross the $2 billion mark worldwide in the coming weeks. Only seven films in cinema history have achieved this milestone, making the achievement particularly noteworthy given how quickly the sequel has reached these financial heights.
Among the newcomers, Warner Bros.’ “The End of Oak Street” is positioning itself as the strongest challenger, with box office estimates ranging from $20 million to $30 million for its opening weekend. The sci-fi survival thriller stars Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor and carries a substantial $85 million production budget. Meanwhile, Paramount’s animated sequel “PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie” aims for approximately $20 million domestically, while three additional films targeting mature audiences—”The Wrong Girls,” “The Rivals of Amziah King,” and “The Brink of War”—are expected to generate single-digit debuts.
