BookCon is set to expand in 2027 following the overwhelming success of its return last spring. The publishing industry’s premier gathering will now span three days instead of two, taking place April 9-11 at New York’s Javits Center. Organizers at ReedPop made the announcement after the 2026 edition sold out quickly and generated significant buzz, including major literary announcements.
The extended format promises attendees additional opportunities to engage with the literary community. The three-day schedule will feature expanded programming with more author panels, book signings, and shopping experiences. The longer event may also provide better access to tickets for fans who struggled to secure admission to the sold-out 2026 gathering.
According to ReedPop’s Event Director Jenny Martin, the expansion reflects the team’s commitment to building on last year’s momentum. Martin stated that organizers reviewed feedback from both attendees and industry partners to develop improvements for the upcoming event. The decision to add an extra day represents the first major change announced for BookCon 2027.
The 2026 edition attracted bestselling authors including Veronica Roth, Andy Weir, Rachel Reid, and Rufi Thorpe. While the lineup for 2027 has not yet been revealed, ReedPop has indicated that next year’s convention will be even larger in scope. Author announcements are expected to be released as the event date approaches.
