Arsenal has entered negotiations to acquire England international defender Jarell Quansah, according to reports from Sky Sports News. The 23-year-old centre-back currently plays for Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen and represents a potential solution to the Gunners’ defensive recruitment plans.
The north London club has been actively searching for defensive reinforcements this summer, with several names linked to the club in recent weeks. Quansah joins a list of targets that has included Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa and Tottenham’s Cristián Romero as Arsenal continues to strengthen their backline.
However, securing Quansah’s signature may prove challenging for Arsenal. Leverkusen acquired the defender from Liverpool for £30 million just last season and is expected to demand a significant profit on that investment. Additionally, Liverpool retain a buy-back clause in the agreement, which could complicate any potential deal.
During the 2025-26 season, Quansah made 44 appearances for Leverkusen across all competitions, contributing four goals from his defensive position.
