NBC has announced a major shake-up for its upcoming celebrity edition of the competition series The Voice. Joe Jonas will serve as one of the show’s coaches, joining forces with Queen Latifah and country music performer Riley Green in that capacity.
In a significant change from the original series, Keke Palmer has been tapped to host the new spinoff, taking over hosting duties from Carson Daly, who has led The Voice since its debut in 2011. Daly will continue his involvement with the franchise as a producer on the celebrity edition.
The Voice: Celebrity is currently in production and will premiere on NBC during spring 2027. Unlike the traditional format that focuses on undiscovered musical talent, this spinoff will feature established celebrities, including musicians, athletes, and actors, competing against one another. The season will also serve as Season 31 of The Voice overall.
The new format introduces several fresh elements, including a Voice Boot Camp that will provide behind-the-scenes content of contestants preparing for their blind auditions, and a VIP lounge where competitors can watch their peers perform. This marks the first domestic spinoff of The Voice to air in the United States.
