Mattel has released an official Barbie doll celebrating WNBA star Angel Reese, marking the first collectible of its kind featuring the athlete. The doll showcases Reese in her signature pink uniform, complete with miniature sneakers and a basketball accessory. The figure sold out rapidly following its launch last month.
While the Barbie doll is no longer available for purchase, fans can still obtain the accompanying Reebok sneakers online. The Barbie Angel Reese 1 sneakers are priced at $160 and come in sizes ranging from 3.5 to 16.5. This footwear collaboration represents the first Barbie-themed iteration of Reese’s signature shoe line with Reebok, a partnership that began in 2023.
Reese, a forward for the Atlanta Dream, was drafted in the first round of the 2024 WNBA Draft and has become one of the league’s rising stars. The doll release coincides with her impressive performance this season, where she has averaged approximately 15 points per game. Reese joins other notable figures and athletes, including Venus Williams and Chloe Kelly, who have received their own Barbie dolls in recent years.
The release reflects the growing popularity of women’s sports, with select WNBA games attracting nearly 2.6 million viewers this season—a significant increase compared to the league’s 250,000-viewer average in 2010.
