The Location Managers Guild International held its annual awards ceremony on Saturday evening, recognizing excellence in location scouting and management across film and television. Two projects emerged as the evening’s major winners, each claiming top honors in their respective categories.
Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another” secured the award for outstanding locations in a contemporary feature film. The production utilized diverse California locations including Humboldt County, Sacramento, and Stockton, along with filming in El Paso, Texas. Meanwhile, Josh Safdie’s “Marty Supreme” won the period feature film category after shooting across multiple locations spanning New York City, the Hudson Valley, New Jersey, and Tokyo.
Television honors were distributed among three productions. “Pluribus” claimed the contemporary television series award for work conducted in Albuquerque, Montana, Nevada, and Spain. “Fallout” earned recognition in the period television category following shoots in California’s Dumont Dunes and Mojave Desert regions. “Black Rabbit,” filmed in New York City boroughs, took home the anthology and limited series award.
The ceremony also bestowed special recognitions on industry veterans. Director Vince Gilligan received the Eva Monley Award for his career contributions to location-based storytelling. Location manager Mike Fantasia, whose credits include major productions such as “Top Gun: Maverick” and “Killers of the Flower Moon,” was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
