Olympique de Marseille is seeking to negotiate a higher transfer fee for Brazilian winger Igor Paixão following an initial proposal from English Premier League club Sunderland. The French side has identified the 26-year-old as a key asset to offload during the closing stages of the summer transfer window, despite manager Bruno Genesio’s preference to retain him at the club.
Club ownership and management have determined that selling Paixão is financially necessary and recognize his considerable market appeal.
