A major military operation in the Qalandiya refugee camp in the occupied West Bank resulted in at least 51 Palestinian injuries on Thursday, according to the Jerusalem Governorate. The Israeli forces conducted the large-scale raid near the Qalandiya checkpoint, during which they demolished commercial structures and restricted movement in the adjacent town of Kafr Aqab by implementing a curfew and sealing roads connecting to Jerusalem.
Medical personnel from the Palestine Red Crescent Society reported that 35 individuals required hospitalization following severe beatings, while six others received treatment at the scene. Additional injuries included one person struck by a rubber-coated steel projectile and six others affected by tear gas exposure. Ambulance crews faced obstacles in accessing wounded individuals throughout the night, though they successfully transported several patients, including those needing urgent medical care.
The raid occurred amid a broader pattern of intensified military operations across the West Bank. Human rights organizations documented over 11,000 Israeli military and settler incidents in the first half of the year, displacing more than 2,300 Palestinians. Israeli forces also conducted a separate operation in Jenin on the same day, resulting in one shooting and one assault, according to medical officials. These incidents reflect an escalating cycle of violence affecting Palestinian communities in the occupied territories.
