Under WNBA rules, accumulating eight technical fouls automatically triggers a one-game suspension. However, Reese has the opportunity to appeal the technical to the league office in hopes of having it rescinded. If the appeal succeeds, she would avoid missing Sunday’s home game against Minnesota. The precedent for such reversals was recently set when the WNBA rescinded a technical foul against Caitlin Clark earlier this month, preventing her from facing a similar suspension.
The Dream suffered a decisive 101-83 defeat to the Fire on Friday night. Portland’s strong shooting performance, highlighted by Carla Leite’s 26 points, proved too much for Atlanta to overcome. Reese contributed 16 points and 16 rebounds in the loss, which dropped the playoff-bound Dream to fifth place in the standings.
