The cast and crew of the upcoming “Baywatch” revival took time to celebrate a young hero during their final day of production this week. Ryder Williams, a 16-year-old rookie lifeguard, visited the Fox lot in Century City alongside his parents to receive recognition for his remarkable bravery at a Santa Cruz beach.
Williams gained widespread attention after successfully rescuing a 10-year-old boy from dangerous conditions featuring towering waves and powerful rip currents. The incident marked his first rescue as a lifeguard, though he went on to complete four additional rescues that same day. Star Stephen Amell presented Williams with a commemorative Season 1 crew jacket as a token of appreciation from the entire production team.
Executive producer Matt Nix emphasized the connection between the show’s values and Williams’ heroic actions, stating that “Baywatch” celebrates the dedication of those who protect others. Greg Bonann, the original series creator and current executive producer, noted that Williams’ visit inspired the cast and crew by providing them with a genuine example of what heroism looks like in real life.
The “Baywatch” revival is scheduled to premiere on Fox in early 2027. The show’s ensemble cast includes David Chokachi, Livvy Dunne, Luke Eisner, Shay Mitchell, and Noah Beck, among others.
