Bay Port dominated Kimberly in Thursday’s nonconference football matchup, securing a 28-13 victory in Suamico. The Pirates’ decisive moment came early in the second half when Jackson Smith broke free for a 74-yard touchdown run that opened up the close contest. Bay Port improved to 2-0 on the season, while Kimberly dropped to 0-2 for the first time since 2004. Meanwhile, Sturgeon Bay defeated Clintonville 24-6 behind three touchdown passes from Trygg Stuth.
In boys soccer, Hortonville dominated Marshfield 10-0 with a balanced offensive attack. Freedom also posted a shutout victory over Winneconne 7-0. Meanwhile, tennis saw dominant performances from Appleton North and Hortonville, with both teams winning decisively against their respective opponents. Kimberly’s girls golf team defeated Appleton East 180-199 at High Cliff.
