Blue Finch Films has secured international distribution rights for the heist comedy “Drag,” helmed by directors Greg Yagolnitzer and Raviv Ullman. The U.K.-based sales company plans to introduce the film to buyers at the Toronto Film Festival market. The project marks the first independent feature from Jersey Films 2nd Avenue, a production company founded by Danny DeVito, who serves as a producer alongside his children Lucy and Jake DeVito.
The film stars Lizzy Caplan, Lucy DeVito, John Stamos and Christine Ko. Its plot centers on two estranged sisters who attempt to burglarize a rural home in upstate New York, but their scheme unravels when one sister sustains a back injury and becomes stranded upstairs, forcing a desperate scramble to escape before the homeowner’s return. The project debuted at SXSW 2026 and has since screened at multiple festivals including BiFan, Fantasia and Tubi FrightFest London.
Briarcliff Entertainment has already secured North American distribution rights and plans a U.S. theatrical release on January 29, 2027. Jersey Films 2nd Avenue, which emphasizes unconventional storytelling and distinctive creative voices, previously produced the animated FXX series “Little Demon” and the Prime Video sports documentary series “Game 7.”
