Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton’s family released a statement Thursday addressing a serious incident from earlier in the week. During a TikTok livestream Tuesday evening, Hilton experienced a mental health crisis involving self-harm. His children, along with his sister and niece who were in the home at the time, were immediately evacuated to protect them from witnessing further trauma.
Emergency responders arrived at Hilton’s Miami residence after viewers of the livestream contacted police. The platform’s automated moderation system detected the broadcast and shut it down after approximately 15 minutes. Hilton was subsequently hospitalized, and his TikTok account has been permanently banned from the platform.
In their latest statement, the family expressed gratitude for the support they have received and emphasized their focus on helping the children recover from the experience. They stated that Hilton is able to communicate, which has provided hope during this difficult period. The family requested privacy and asked media and paparazzi to vacate the area surrounding their home to allow the children space to heal and rebuild a sense of security.
