Bose has unveiled the second generation of its QuietComfort noise-canceling headphones, introducing several notable enhancements to the entry-level model that debuted in late 2023. The refreshed headphones feature an improved headband design that provides greater comfort and easier adjustment, alongside enhanced noise cancellation that responds more intelligently to shifting environmental sounds. Priced at $359, the new model represents a modest increase from the original $349 launch price and will be available for preorder beginning August 8th, with shipments expected to commence on August 13th.
A significant upgrade comes in the form of TrueSpatial immersive audio technology, a feature previously exclusive to Bose’s premium QuietComfort Ultra model. This head-tracking capability allows audio to appear as though it originates from a fixed point in space or maintains the optimal listening position as users move. The technology also includes a theater-inspired mode designed to enhance video and podcast consumption by spatializing sound while keeping dialogue clear and centered.
Additional improvements include refined noise cancellation that better compensates for users wearing glasses, Bluetooth 5.4 with multipoint connectivity, and USB-C support for lossless audio playback. The headphones maintain their 24-hour battery life standard, or up to 18 hours when utilizing immersive audio features. The second-generation QuietComfort will be available in five color options: black, white smoke, eucalyptus green, dewdrop mint, and rosewood mauve.
