The New York Times’ popular word puzzle game Connections has released puzzle #1151 for August 5, 2026. Designed by associate puzzle editor Wyna Liu, the game challenges players to identify common links between 16 words organized into four distinct categories. Those with fashion knowledge may find today’s puzzle particularly manageable.
In Connections, players must group words that share a meaningful connection, with only one correct solution for each set. The game is accessible on web browsers and mobile devices, with color-coded difficulty levels ranging from yellow (easiest) through green, blue, and purple (hardest). Players receive four incorrect attempts before the game concludes. Successfully identifying all four words in a category removes them from the board, and results can be shared on social media.
Today’s puzzle categories focus on verbs meaning to navigate, denim brand names, architectural house styles, and various definitions of the word “stock.” The solutions include navigation-related terms, popular jeans manufacturers, classic home designs, and words representing different meanings of stock, from culinary broths to livestock and financial investments.
Connections joins other New York Times Games offerings like Wordle and Strands as a daily mental challenge. The puzzle refreshes after midnight each day with increasingly difficult word combinations.
