Treblo, an artificial intelligence music generation platform, has released a new detection tool that identifies songs created using its technology. The classifier achieved notable attention this week when it analyzed “Rubberz,” a track by artist Fenix Flexin that reached the Billboard Hot 100 chart, determining the song was “very likely” generated by Treblo with “high confidence.”
The open-source detection system claims a false positive rate of less than 1 in 1,000, according to the company’s announcement on Monday. Treblo’s CEO Ryan Tremblay stated that the analysis indicated the released audio was generated almost entirely by the company’s model, potentially making it the first AI-generated song to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.
The development follows weeks of speculation about the song’s origins. Musician Medasin had previously suggested the track was created using Treblo specifically, a claim that the detection tool appears to support. Fenix has maintained the song was created organically and shared video clips purporting to show project files from recording sessions, though these have done little to dispel concerns about artificial generation.
Treblo acknowledged the situation with apparent enthusiasm, with leadership suggesting someone used their model to create audio that resonated with millions of listeners. Fenix has not yet commented on the classifier’s findings.
